It’s no secret that I love historical costume tv-series or movies. Have you seen Belgravia, based on the 2016 novel by Julian Fellowes? You may know him as the writer of Downton Abbey. After watching the two first episodes, I find it to be perfect combination of two worlds I love watching: Downton Abbey in the era of Jane Austen, beginning of the 19th century.

The story

The story begins on June 15, 1815 on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo. We meet the different characters at the Duchess of Richmond’s famous ball in Brussels. Two young people, Lord Bellasis and Sophia Trenchard, are in love but society does not look kindly upon their relationship, their background being so different.
